Luke Cage star Mike Colter patted his wife Iva’s baby bump at The Edison Ballroom in New York City Thursday, after news broke that Iva, a higher-up at Netflix, was expecting the couple’s second daughter.
‘We are feeling happy but a bit nervous as well,’ the duo, who have a three-year-old daughter named Naiella, said in a statement. ‘It’s a new member of the family.
‘While it will shift focus for us again, our daughter Niles will probably be affected the most, so we are making sure she feels comfortable and excited with the change to our growing family.’

Proud Luke Cage star Mike Colter, 41, patted baby bump of his wife Iva, 43, at The Edison Ballroom in NYC Thursday, after news broke that Iva, a higher-up at Netflix, was expecting the couple’s second daughter
Colter, 41, looked dapper in a dark grey suit jacket over a patterned white button-up top and grey slacks with black boots. The Columbia, South Carolina native sported a goatee as he rubbed his hand on his spouse’s stomach.
Iva, 43, looked lovely in a yellow gown with clear panels near her leg and waist, with a neck-piece. The streaming service exec wore her wavy blonde locks down and had a light layer of makeup on with gold hoop earrings.
The actor, who’s reprised the Luke Cage role in Marvel Universe projects like The Defenders and Jessica Jones, chat about his daughter Naiella with People in April in a discussion over parenting, telling the publication that his initial belief he’d be a disciplinarian had crumbled amid his daughter’s precocious savviness.
‘I thought I’d be more strict, but I think it’s a combination of strict and fun because if I tell her to do something, she takes her time,’ the actor told the magazine. ‘She looks at me and sizes it up, deciding whether she’s going to do it or not. She says, No, but I can tell she’s trying to calculate how much she can get away with.’

Expecting The couple announced Thursday they were expecting their second girl
Colter said he does his best not to be a pushover.
‘I’m pretty firm because if she doesn’t listen, I say, You have to be a good listener, and if she doesn’t listen then I get pretty serious with her and give her a talking to,’ he said. ‘I let her understand that there are ramifications for not listening to Daddy.’
For Father’s Day earlier this week, Colter posted a shot of himself holding the adorable tot, as he expounded on how he treasured being a dad.
‘I love her more than she will ever know,’ he said.
