A lad texted a break up message to a girl he’d been seeing was horrified when he realised he’d made the most cringeworthy error ever – and realised what he’s done.
The unnamed man asked his sister for advice on how to break up with a girl he’d been seeing
But he had an absolute mare when it came to the text he sent, as he pasted in his SISTER’S words by mistake.
The incredible text which he sent to the casual partner he’d been seeing reveals that he had asked his sibling for advice on how best to word the message which was going to let his sometime squeeze down gently.
And it’s the stuff of nightmares, as he included all of the detail which was in his sister’s own text.
The unnamed guy was obviously in a text conversation with his sister in which he had suggested what he was planning on saying.
Her advice was: “Maybe more along the lines of a ‘so long and thanks for all the fish… It was great getting to know you.”
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy fans will recognise ‘So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish’ as the fourth book in Douglas Adams’ series, and according to the book, the the message left by dolphins when they depart Earth before it was demolished to make way for a hyperspace bypass.
The last suggestion was prefaced with the words: “This is the one,” indicating it might be what he had finally decided he was going to say.
It read: ” Internet dating’s a little random and we had fun, sorry that it didn’t work out. Good luck!”
He continued with another text a minute later, seemingly unaware of the first, typing: “You’re a really lovely girl, but I’m just not getting that spark, sorry. Nice getting to know you, though!”
Following that – with a gap of five minutes in which he obviously realised his error – he added: “Sorry for the other message, my sis was helping with the drafting. Cringe.”
He’d obviously had time to think up an acceptable excuse – and realised there was none available and he would just have to come clean.
