Lidl has announced all stores will open as normal this Bank Holiday weekend, as Britain enjoys one last long weekend off before Christmas.

The supermarket giant – which rivals budget food chain Aldi, and the likes of Sainsburys , Tesco and Asda will operate standard hours in most major cities and towns, however there will be a few exceptions – and shoppers are advised to check the Lidl website ahead of their visit.

Saturday 27 August: Stores nationwide will open 8am – 10pm – with some exceptions.

Sunday 28 August: Stores nationwide will open 11am – 5pm – with some exceptions.

Monday 29 August: Normal opening hours across all stores.
