A furious husband allegedly shot his wife and her secret lover dead after catching them having sex in what police called a horrific crime of passion .
Juan Carlos Garcia, 42, allegedly shot the naked pair dead while they thought he was at work, as their three children slept in another room.
He is then thought to have told officers: She was unfaithful and sullied my honour as a man.
All I did was remove the woman who destroyed my life in this world.
Garcia had suspected wife Sandra Castellanos, 39, was having an affair while he did night shifts as a security guard in Atlantico, Columbia.
Neighbours and relatives are said to have told him that his wife regularly brought her boyfriend Noe Gomez, 35, to their home three hours after he started his 5pm shift.
But Garcia hatched a plan to catch her in the act and instead of going to work, returned home earlier and allegedly shot the couple dead with a handgun at 9pm on August 4.
Police have now charged Garcia with murder after they said he confessed to shooting the pair.
Detectives said Juan told his wife he was going to work but tricked her to catch her with her hands in the dough .
He was not due at work and stayed at a friend’s house before phoning his wife and asking to speak with their children, police said.
But Sandra is understood to have told him that they were already sleeping because they had school the next day.
Garcia allegedly told police that moments later he burst in to the single-storey two-room brick property and unloaded several rounds into his wife and her younger lover.
He was later arrested in the Villa Maria area of the Soledad region.
A police report said: At 9.05pm Juan Carlos Garcia called his wife to ask about his three children, she answered the call and told him that they had gone to bed early because they had to leave for school.
The suspect Juan Carlos Garcia found his wife making love with her love. The husband was filled with anger and killed them both.
He handed himself in to police and said that he did not feel sorry for what he had done.
Police said that Garcia had been remanded in custody and would face court hearings at a later date.
They said the three children would attend their mother’s funeral and be cared for by relatives.
