A motorist was stunned to find a rubbish bag she spotted moving in the middle of a road had a tiny puppy trapped inside.
Malissa Sergent Lewis, from Kentucky, was driving to work on August 25 when she spotted the bag in the road.
She posted the footage of the dog struggling inside the bag on Facebook.
If this is your puppy, let me know, she wrote. If you are the scoundrel who put it in a garbage bag and tossed it on the side of the road…..you’re a sicko.
The post has received more than 1.4 million views and thousands of shares, with many users praising the mother-of-three for stopping to help the puppy, believed to be around eight weeks old.
She told The Dodo: The bag was tied off in a knot, so I carefully tore a corner and looked inside.
It was a puppy. And he sure was glad to see me. As soon as I opened it up, and he saw light, he just started wagging his tail. He knew he was OK. I couldn’t believe it.
In a follow-up Facebook comment she added: We think we’ve found the owner. Animal Control and Sheriff Department investigating.
The boys are in love with him. We’ve taken him to the vet and he’s doing great. I feel like he is safe here with us. We will let them do investigation and go from there.
